The White Hands Ambassador
Rihab Zein
El Den
A Lebanese
media figure and one of the distinguished media personals in the Arab
World, with a Bachelor education in Psychology.
She started
her media career in Future TV, and still a trainee, she hosted a TV
youth program to later take interest in humanitarian and social works,
making her rejecting to accept many TV programs for the lack of content
that appeals to her humanitarian aspiration.
One of her
conspicuous characteristics is her reading passion, both that of western
and Arabic publications.
Her
childhood was not easy, it is remembered when she was ten years old, she
stood over the dinning table, carrying a wooden spoon, and presenting
her family members a long vociferous speech, announcing her rejection to
the Israeli occupation to southern Lebanon, and the Israeli kidnapping
of her father, to realize that her voice was unheard, except to her
family, and she figured that the only platform to express what goes
inside is the mass media…
Another
childhood experience she endured was when she was kept at the protection
of the United Nations with her other peers till cease fire between the
Zionist occupation and the Lebanese resistance alarmed her release to be
cocooned with her family, however carrying painful memory in her many
travels to include France, Canada, and Saudi Arabia, and to settle with
her family in the UAE, and that is when she started her main steps in
the media.
In 2004 her
journey to break into the media world through her visionary impetus that
the media has a great role to bring awareness in society and to reflect
luminously on the most important social issues, to include one of the
main social dilemmas that she cared to give her keen interest to - the
women issues and their suffering.
She
naturally followed her interest in women issues by taking three years of
intensive studies to study the media academically, and that is when she
started presenting dialogue programs and news bulletins to be familiar
with all of the angles in media.
Later, she
started presenting one of the most important programs in the Arab
World, that is the White Hands Campaign, as she was one of those
establishing members of the campaign, she also contributed in innovating
some of the campaign's project, and she was honored at the fourth Arab
Producers Forum, and was chosen among the best four TV presenters in the
Arab World, along side Zahi Wahbi, Mustafa Bakri, Mahmoud Sa'ad… an
amazing achievement, before she used to look at the campaign as if it
is a distant dream produced by the most important organizations, the
APUTV.
